Tanzania is home to a great diversity of cultures and tribes.
There are about 100 different tribes each with its own unique
language, religion and & social system. Many of Tanzania's tribes
still cling to their time honored traditions, and a staggering
25% of Tanzania's population still follows African religions and
beliefs. In our cultural programs, our clients visit and
experience varied tribal cultures such as the hunter-gatherer
Hadza people, the pastoral Datoga and Masai or agricultural
Arusha, Chagga and Iraqw. We visit their
homes, learn about the art of traditional healers and
participate in local honey wine brewing. We might even be lucky
enough to witness a traditional circumcision ceremony in one of
the villages.

We offer two kinds of programs. Our tribal visits, which are
short visits to various tribal villages, especially designed to
be included in our normal safari itineraries, and our cultural
programs which are longer immersion programs that offer the
chance to live with African people and experience their life
first hand while exploring their beautiful wilderness homes.
Tribal visits Our safari itineraries pass through the
territories of many tribes and peoples. We believe that one of
the most interesting things we can show our guests is the living
culture of the traditional African communities we pass enroute
to our safari destinations.

We operate exclusive tourism
programs with various traditional groups that enable us to make
short cultural visits to their villages and for a few hours or a
day, taste their way of life. We visit homesteads, and learn about
their architecture and daily chores. We make short
hikes through the fields and pastures or go into the forest with
a traditional healer to learn about medicinal plants.

Cultural programs Our cultural
programs are longer overnight programs that offer the chance
to live or travel with African people and experience their life
style first hand while exploring their beautiful wilderness
homes. Our programs are as varied as the tribal societies they
visit. We go on walking and camel safaris with Masai people in
the areas of Loliondo or Longido Mountain. These safaris really
get off the beaten track and give maximum involvement in
mingling with the local people and experiencing their nomadic life.
Overnight camping safaris reach the beautiful Lake Eyasi where
we accompany Hadza tribespeople while hunting and visit the
villages of the proud and fierce Datoga herders. Our guides are
all bilingual and will escort you into their wilderness homes,
pointing out to you interesting medicinal plants, animals,
birds, local customs and places of beauty.
